Random finds from the internet: A few political essays by composers... especially interesting are the completely different takes by Ligeti and Lachenman. Also, a bit of information worm-hole action - Wes Blomster, who interviewed me a few years ago, wrote a bit of commentary on Ligeti's essay. Judging from the logo, it appears to have been in Perspectives of New Music at one point.
